Challenges
The website operated in a highly competitive healthcare market where established diagnostic brands dominated organic search through stronger domain authority, larger content ecosystems, and mature backlink profiles. To compete effectively, the website needed improvements across technical SEO, content quality, authority building, and local search visibility.
Key challenges included:
- Competing against high-authority healthcare brands for commercial and informational keywords.
- Addressing technical SEO issues affecting crawlability, indexation, and website architecture.
- Optimizing service pages and expanding topical content to improve search relevance.
- Strengthening domain authority through consistent backlink acquisition.
- Improving local SEO visibility across multiple business locations.
My Approach / Strategy
Rather than focusing on isolated SEO activities, I began by benchmarking the website against leading competitors to understand where the biggest performance gaps existed. Every optimization initiative was prioritized based on its ability to reduce those gaps and improve long-term organic growth.
The strategy focused on five key areas:
- Conduct competitor benchmarking across organic traffic, keyword visibility, domain authority, backlinks, content coverage, and local search presence.
- Perform gap analysis to identify opportunities across technical SEO, content, authority building, and local SEO.
- Prioritize initiatives based on business impact instead of implementing ad hoc optimizations.
- Build scalable SEO systems across technical optimization, content, authority building, and local SEO to ensure growth continues beyond individual optimization cycles.
- Measure performance using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and other SEO tools, refining the roadmap based on monthly insights.

Keyword Performance
Expanded the website’s keyword footprint across both commercial and informational search intent, improving visibility for priority service pages, diagnostic tests, and educational content. The total number of ranking keywords grew from approximately 800 to over 1,800, significantly increasing the website’s presence across high-intent healthcare searches.

Together, these initiatives strengthened the site’s technical foundation and supported scalable organic growth improving scalability as new content and landing pages were introduced.
Key Takeaway
Rather than treating SEO as a collection of isolated activities, this project focused on building scalable systems across technical SEO, content, authority, and local search. The result was a stronger organic foundation capable of supporting long-term growth across thousands of pages in a highly competitive healthcare market.
